Lifting Supervisor: Site Control & Lift Plan Execution

Under the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER), every lifting operation must be adequately supervised to ensure safety and statutory compliance. While the Appointed Person (AP) is legally responsible for designing the Lift Plan, the Lifting Supervisor holds the critical on-site authority to ensure that the plan is executed safely, precisely, and without deviation.

This competency-based course by the QHSE Association prepares site leaders to take physical control of lifting operations. Participants will learn how to interpret complex Lift Plans and Method Statements, conduct comprehensive pre-lift site verifications, lead toolbox briefings, and actively manage the lifting team—including crane operators and slinger/signallers—to eliminate on-site hazards and prevent incidents.
